يشير الباحث في بحثه إلى آثار الحرب العالمية الثانية حين وضعت أوزارها، وأنشأت رابطة الأمم التي عقدت مؤتمرات عالمية، ووقعت اتفاقيات دولية تتعلق في مجالات عدة سياسية، وصحية، واقتصادية، واجتماعية تتعلق بالمرأة والطفل، والسكان، والتنمية، والتعليم، وغيرها.. لم تقف تلك المؤتمرات بتوصياتها على حدود التلاوة، بل تعدته سعيا لتطبيقها واقعا, من خلال ممارسة عدد من الضغوط على دول العالم الثالث خصوصا, و عبر الاتفاقيات الدولية العديدة خاصة ما يتعلق بشأن المرأة، والطفل حيث أولتها اهتماما كبيرا. ومن أجل تلك الاتفاقيات طالبت العديد من المطالب، من أخطرها ما يتعلق بتغيير نظام أحكام الأحوال الشخصية في العالم الإسلامي عامة، والعربي خاصة، وسن أنظمة، وقوانين تتوافق مع تلك الاتفاقيات المخالفة لشريعة الإسلام في كثير من موادها. ويعد نظام الأحوال الشخصية هو آخر قلاع الإسلام في الدول الإسلامية التي اكتسحتها القوانين الوضعية.
