تقديم (أزاهير الرياض), أو التعريف بمؤلفة العظيم, رضى الله عنه وعنا به, أمران لا يعدوان أن يكونا من تحصيل الحاصل, وتعريف المعروف. فهذا السفر الجليل ينم عن كل ما يريد أن يعرفه القارئ عن سيادة مؤلفه رضوان الله عليه, وهو أزاهير الرياض بحق وحقيق, وهو اسم على مسمى كما يقوقون. جمع أزاهير المعارف الإلهية من سائر رياضها, ولم اشتات قطوف بواكير الثمار العلوية من جميع حياضها, فلم يدع شاردة ولا واردة, مما يحتاج إليه المريد فى سيره إلى الله عز وجل, إلا وأقام وأصولها, وأظهر فروعها, وفصل مجملها, وأوضح غامضها, فهو وإن كان فى الأصل فى مناقب جد المؤلف رضى الله عنهما, إلا أنه -فى نفس الوقت- خلاصة ما يحتاج إليه المريد, سالكا ما سلك من الطرق المختلفة الموصلة إلى الله عز وجل, فضلا عما احتوى من تاريخ يشحذ همة القارئ, ويعطر روح السامع, ويفك الأغلال عن قدم السائر المريد.
ورغم أن الكتاب ألف فى زمن غلب فيه السجع, وطغت ألوان المحسنات, فإن أسلوب هذا الكتاب-كأسلوب مؤلفه فى سائر ما كتب- أسلوب "عصرى حديث" إذا أردنا أن نعبر عنه بمصطلح اليوم, فضلا عن سلاسة عباراته, وجزالة كلماته, ويسر تناول مقاصده على بعدها, وسهولة تفهم مراميه على عظيم عمقها وسعتها, وليس هذا الكتاب على رفعة قدره إلا واحدا من مؤلفات الأستاذ ودرره.
