دفاع أصيل عن الإنسان أمام وحشة الحاضر وظلمه هو ما تتسم به نصوص (ثاني يوم في الجنة) للشاعر بدر ناصر منيف، عبر أدوات تقوم على المفارقة اللغوية والحدس، الذي يفتح فضاء الكتاب إلى أقصى ذروتها، فتبدو انعكاسات شفافة على الواقع المرير الذي تتعرض له أنا الشاعر. نقرأ له:
"شعوب شُيعت / تحت الأرض وفوقها / حين ينام العظماء / ويصحو العظام / أنا لستُ رساماً / يلون ويخبىء الجروح والألم / ويقول هذا التئام / بل أنا كل من يرسم / الندم والعدم / والإثم والظلم / بدموع ملثمة بضم السلام / تكتئبُ الكتب / ويعتقلُ العقل / فيتساوى الإنسان والحيوان / والجماد يبتسم / نتراضى نحن والمرض / ونحلمُ بالشفاء / والرأي عندنا واحد ليس له ثانٍ / والثاني في بلادي مجرم ومحرم ( ...) ". هكذا يبني الشاعر بدر ناصر منيف يوتوبياه الشعرية عبر تقطبات الأنا وانشطارات الذات واستدراج عناصر المفارقة والسخرية والتضاد والتوازي، وما هي في النهاية إلا مقاربات تشير إلى تناقضات الواقع، وغرابة الحياة ...
يضم الكتاب ما يقارب من الثلاثين قصيدة تنتمي لقصيدة النثر، جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "كوكب المقهي" ، "مشاهدة الصوت" ، "غاية الجماد" ، "شعراء دون أن يعلموا" ، "ظل شجرة وظل إنسان" ، "بئر الصمت" ، "القمر الأسود" ، "تنمية السماء" ، "هرم داخل هرم مقلوب" ، "فتوى إلى المفتي" ... الخ.
