تتناول هذه الدراسة بالرصد والتحليل دور الطلبة في الفترة التاريخية الهامة التي لازمت ثورة 1919، بدءاً من التمهيد لها ثم مشاركتهم في أحداثها وانتهاء بالفترة التي تلتها حتى صدور تصريح 28 فبراير 1922، وذلك لكون الطلبة كانوا يعبرون عن الآمال والهداف الوطنية للسواد الأعظم من المصريين كما أنهم كانوا قوة مثقفة مؤثرة في الأحداث.
والدراسة على هذا النحو تهدف إلى إبراز الدور الوطني الهام- المجهول- الذي قام به الطلبة في العمل الثوري، سواء بالعمل السري أو العلني في داخل مصر أو خارجها، حيث كانت القضية المصرية شاغلهم الأعظم باعتبارها قضية وطنية في مواجهة الاحتلال.
