أصل مادة الموسوعة دراسة علمية موسعة نال بها المؤلف درجة الدكتوراه من جامعة الملك خالد بأبها، بعنوان: (الروح في الديانات والدعاوى المعاصرة). والسلسلة تتكون من أربعة أجزاء طبع منها الكتابين الأول والثاني.
الأول: الروح عند أهل السنة والجماعة تحدث فيه المؤلف عن الروح البشرية وفق أصح المصادر السماوية وهي كتاب الله تبارك وتعالى وما صح من سنة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فهو عرض لمعتقد أهل السنة والجماعة في الروح وإيضاح لحقائقها وتأكيدها وفقد دراسة علمية متكاملة. وإثبات بأن أهل الحق قد بنوا معتقداتهم في الروح على قواعد محكمة وأصول ثابتة. كما أن الكتاب يصحح المفاهيم الخاطئة والمغلوطة عن الروح عند المتقدمين والمتأخرين من أهل الديانات وأصحاب الدعاوى والفلسفة، ويرد عليهم في كثير من شبههم التي نسجوها في الموضوع، ويثبت ما تجاهلوه من حقائق واضحة.
الثاني: الروح عند أهل الكلام والفلسفة استعرض فيه المؤلف عقائد أهل الكلام في الروح، ووضح ما وقعوا فيه من تباين واختلاف وتناقض فيها، كما استعرض عقائد الشيعة في ذات الموضوع وبين شذوذهم فيه وخلافهم لمجموع الأمة في بعض من مسائل الروح.
واستعرض الكتاب أيضاً عقائد أهل التصوف في الروح وتصوراتهم المنحرفة وبدعهم الضالة، وتطرق لعقائد الفلاسفة المنتمين للإسلام والذين تأثروا في كثير من قضايا الروح ومسائلها بفلاسفة اليونان، وبين الكتاب أن الجهل بالروح يقود الى انحرافات عقدية وأخلاقية كبيرة.
