قال الله تعالى في كتابه الكريم: "نور على نور يهدي الله لنوره من يشاء ويضرب الله الأمثال للناس والله بكل شئ عليم. في بيوت أذن الله أن ترفع ويذكر فيها اسمه يسبح له فيها بالغدو والأصال. رجال لا تلهيهم تجارة ولا بيع عن ذكر الله"، لا يختلف اثنان على أن خير البقاع في الأرض المساجد، وأنها واحة فيحاء تريح النفس والقلب من عناء وهموم الحياة، يخرج بعدها المصلي من المسجد بنور وطاقة متجددة وقلب مطمئن ويقين يهون مصاعب الحياة عليه. وقد أبدع الفنان المسلم في زخرفة المساجد على مر العصور لما يشعر به من تعظيم لبيوت الله. لكل ما تقدم فإنني كفنان تشكيلي وأستاذ للخط العربي والزخرفة العربية قد شرفت بتأليف وتصميم كتابي هذا "فن تصميم زخرفة المساجد وملحقاتها من جدران وأسقف وأبواب ونوافذ ومنابر ومآذن وكرسي الواعظ وحامل المصحف ومكتبة المسجد.... إلخ وقد وفقني الله بعمل تصميمات جديدة مبتكرة لكل هذه العناصر السالف ذكرها، داخل وخارج المسجد، أسأل الله أن ينفع بها الدارسين وغيرهم وأن يجعلها في ميزان حسناتي يوم لا ينفع مال ولا بنون إلا من أتى الله بقلب سليم.
