كتابُ المُصيبة هذا، جاءَ في السُّلُوكِ بطرحٍ جديد، قال عَنَهُ الأستاذ بديع الزمان فروزانفر: لم يأت به السابقون، ولا أتى به إلى الآن اللاحقون، ولا يوجد في أي من كُتْبِ الصوفيَّة توصيفٌ للسَّيْرِ الآفاقِيِّ والأنْفُسِيّ بالشَّكْلِ التَّفْصِيْليَّ المَوجُودِ في منظومة كتاب المصيْبَة.
السَّفَرُ هُنا مَعْنَويٍّ لا صُوريّ، ورُوحاني لا بَدَني، أنظرْ لحديث السالك مع السماء والأرض والعرش والكرسي والملائكة والأنبياء على أنَّهُ كان بلسان الحال لا بلسان القال، ذاك بلسان القال كذب، لكنه بلسان الحال صدقٌ وجميل، إن الحديث فيه غير صحيحٍ وصحيحٌ معاً، إنَّهُ في الظاهر مائلٌ كالقوس، وفي الباطن مستقيم كالسهم، يبدو للنَّاظر إليه من الظاهر أعوجاً، لكنه في الباطن بغايَةِ الحُسْنِ والجَمال.
في نهاية السَّفَر الرُّوحاني، وقتَ يَصِلُ سالِكُ الفِكْرَةِ إلى نُقْطَةِ النِّهايَةِ مِنَ السُّلوكِ، ويرى أن كلَّ بحثِهِ كان بلا طائل، وذاك الذي كان في طلبه العُمْرَ، وهدر من أجله القوًّةَ والوقت، كان في داخله وفي ذاته هُوَ، عَلِمَ أنَّهُ كان عليه طلبُ كل شيءٍ من نفسه ومن ذاته، هناك سأل رُوحَهُ أن ما دْمْتِ كُنْتِ الأصلَ لِكُلِّ شيءٍ، لماذ1ا ألقيتني في كُلِّ هذا العَناء وأَلَمِ هذا الطَّلَبِ كُلِّهِ، وعلَّقْتني بالسِّفَرِ والسَّيْرِ والبحثِ في الكائنات، وتجيبُ الرُّوحُ السَّالِكَ: كَيْ تَعْرِفَ قليلاً قدري، فأنا مِثْلَ كَنْزٍ يحصل عليْهِ شَخْصٌ باليَد، فَلَوْ أنَّهُ أُعْطِيَ ذلِكَ الكَنْزَ باليَدِ مَجَّاناً لَنْ يَعْرِفَ مِن قَدْرِ ذلِكَ الكَنْزِ ذَرَّةً.
وفي هذا الكتاب حكايا وقصصٌ وعبرٌ كثيرةٌ، وفيه من النَّقْدِ اللاَّذعِ للمُلُوكِ والسَّلاطِيْنِ ما لا يُوْجَدُ في كِتابٍ آخَر.
كِتابُ المُصِيْبَة هذا لِفريد الدِّيْن العَطَّار، على غِرارِ كِتابِهِ الآخَرَ مَنْطِقِ الطَّيْر، كِتابُ سَفَرٍ رُوحانيٍّ إلى ذاتِ المَقْصَدِ الأسمى الَّذي كان إِلَيْهِ السَّفْرُ في مَنْطِقٍ الطًّيْر، ولكِنْ بِشَكْلٍ آخَرَ وَمسارٍ آخَرَ، فَمَقْصَدُ كِلا السَّفَرَيْنِ في كِلا الكِتابَيْنِ واحِدٌ، وَمْنْتَهى كِلا السَّفَرَيْنِ في كِلا الكِتابَيْنِ واحِد.
