إبراهيم العريس باحث في التاريخ الثقافي وصحافي وناقد سينمائي ومترجم ولد في بيروت 1946، درس الإخراج السينمائي في روما والسيناريو والنقد في لندن.
يعمل بالصحافة منذ عام 1970.
يرأس حاليًا القسم السينمائي في «الحياة» كما يكتب فيها زاوية يومية حول التراث الإنساني وتاريخ الثقافة العالمية.
ترجم نحو أربعين كتابًا عن الفرنسية والإنجليزية والإيطالية في السينما والفلسفة والاقتصاد والنقد والتاريخ، من أهم مؤلفاته: رحلة في السينما العربية، مارتن سكورسيزي: سيرة سينمائية.
ناقد سينمائي ومترجم من لبنان.
من أعماله المترجمة نصوص لِـ حنة أرندت، وآلان تورين، وجورج غورفيتش.
