العرض يبدأ من المرحلة السابقة للمسألة الطائفية، ومن ثم مرحلة التأسيس لهذه المسألة مع بداية الاستشراق الأوروبي المرافق لاهتمامات أوروبا-الثورة الصناعية بتصدير ثقافتها، لتسبق ثم ترافق جيوش النهب، من أجل تهيئة النخب المحلية في الشرق لاستقبال ونشر المفاهيم الأورومركزية، تمهيداً للهيمنة تحت شعار الحداثة، أو النهضة، وما رافق وتبع ذلك من نزاعات ومذابح لم يكن لها لتتوقف، موقتاً، إلا مع سيادة الجيوش الفرنسية والإنكليزية على الشرق تحت مسمى الانتداب على الكيانات التي أنتجتها اتفاقية سايكس- بيكو التقسيمية. ولم تنته المآسي مع إعلان استقلال هذه الكيانات، لتبدأ مرحلة ما بعد الحداثة، والتي ستأتي بأساطيل الغرب بقيادة أميركية، تحت ذريعة "إرساء الديمقراطية" في بلدان مجزأة يسودها طابع العلاقات القرابية والاقتصاد الريعي لمرحلة ما قبل الدولة. تجسد ذلك في الغزو المباشر، وحروب الوكالة التي ستزرع الموت والدمار وزعزعة الاجتماع البشري. وطبعاً فإن لهذه المرحلة نشطاءها المحليين من دعاة الديمقراطية والليبرالية، والذين سوف يلعبون الدور الخطير في كبح محاولة التحرر الوطني في بلادنا.
