الطبراني، أبو القاسم (260 - 360هـ، 873 - 971م).
سليمان بن أحمد بن أيوب بن مطير اللخمي الشامي، أبو القاسم. محدِّث مشهور، ثقة حافظ، معمر. والطبراني نسبة إلى بلدة طبرية، فإن أصله منها. وُلد بعكا في فلسطين، وبدأ بسماع الحديث سنة 273هـ. كان أبوه حريصًا عليه فرحل به لطلب العلم. رحل إلى بلدان كثيرة منها: بغداد والكوفة، والبصرة وإلى مدائن الشام والحجاز ومصر واليمن وأصبهان وغيرها. وامتدت رحلاته ثلاثين سنة. استقر به المقام في أصفهان. سمع من إسحق الدبري وعلي بن عبد العزيز البغوي، وأبي عبد الرحمن النسائي. روى عنه ابن عقدة، وأبو بكر بن مردويه، وأبو نعيم الأصبهاني، وعبد الرحمن بن أحمد الصفار. من مصنفاته المعجم الكبير؛ المعجم الأوسط؛ المعجم الصغير؛ كتاب الدعاء والمناسك؛ عُشرة النساء؛ السنة؛ مسند شعبة؛ مسند سفيان؛ الأوائل؛ مسند الشاميين؛ مكارم الأخلاق وله تفسير كبير الحجم. سرد الذهبي مصنفات الطبراني نقلاً عن يحيى بن منده، فكانت 76 مؤلفًا. عاش مائة سنة وعشرة أشهر. وتُوفي في أصفهان.

بين يدينا الطبعة الثالثة من كتاب "مكارم الأخلاق" للإمام الحافظ المُسنِد الكبير، أبي القاسم سليمان بن أحمد الطبراني المتوفى (360هــ)، وقد عمّر قرناً من الزمن خدم فيه السُّنَّة النبوية الشريفة خدمات جُلّى، تعليماً وتصنيفاً، ودرساً وتأليفاً، وترك وراءه النافع الطيب من كتب السُّنَّة ودراساتها.
وقد جاء هذا الكتاب مساهمة واجبة في تعريف المسلم خاصة، والناس عامة بجانب من أخلاق الإسلام العالية، وتكوين هذه الأخلاق لإنسان متميِّز في وجوده بما تكنُّهُ مشاعره وحناياه، وما تمارسه جوارحه وأعضاؤه، في وقت اتسع فيه خرق الأخلاق، واستفحل الدّاء وعزّ الدواء.
وإن الأخلاق الإسلامية لهي المسحة الظاهرة، واللحمة الباطنة لعقائد الإسلام ونظمه، وتشريعاته وآدابه، وإليها تستند كليات هذا الدين وجزئياته، وعلى هديها تتمّ مقاطع الحقوق، ومفاصل المعاملات، وصادق المجاملات، وطاهر اللقاءات والإتصالات بين الناس.
