بين الإرادة والقدر يتموضع الأثر الروائي "سأنجب منك قبيلة" للروائية والشاعرة الإماراتية مريم العفاد المنصوري، تفتح من خلالها كوة تشرف منها على واقع جائر تعانيه المرأة العربية يفرض عليها الإختيار بين العقل والقلب، والتسلح بالصبر حتى تتمكن من القدرة على الفعل والإختيار والمواجهة وحتى لا تتحول إلى ريشة في مهب القدر، تلك هي حال "نوف" بطلة الرواية التي تعرضت في ليلة وضحاها إلى حادث سير أجبرها أن تتهيأ لحياة جديدة يرافقها "كرسي متحرك"، وبعد يوم الحادث ذاك بدت "نوف" ملزمة بهذا العذاب، هجرت دراستها الجامعية... اعتزلت معظم صديقاتها... تدهورت صحتها... ولم تعد ترى سوى تفاصيل الحادث الذي أسرها كثيراً وكان من الصعب نسيانه.
تغادر "نوف" بلدها الأم إلى أميركا في رحلة علاج، ترافقها ابنه عمتها "هند" والأهل، وفي البلد الجديد تتعرف "نوف" على عدد من الصديقات والأصدقاء، وليكون لها مع "الحب" موعداً ولكن حالها الصحي خطف منها حبها؛ تخلى عنها خشية عدم الإنجاب، تتوالى الأحداث في الرواية حتى تتزوج بآخر وتنجب منه، يحاول فارس حبيبها الأول الرجوع إليها، فترفض "عندما تركني كان سببه أني لا أنجب ولو تزوجني وخاطر بأبوته... لأنجبت له قبيلة يحارب بها كل من وقف في وجهه ليقول لهم... هذا حصاد حبي لها... ها أنا أفعل فعلتك... وبنفس الطريقة... هذه الحياة الدائرية التي سمعت عنها... هذه الحياة الدائرية التي عادت بأحداثها اليوم كما كانت لكن بطريقة معكوسة... فارس حبيبي اليوم سأتركك كما تركتني...".
وبهذا المعنى، قدمت الروائية المنصوري عملاً روائياً ينتصر للإرادة الفردية، ويقول بإنتصار الذات على كل الحواجز المصطنعة ولو بعد حين، ويغري بالقراءة.
