لقد تم إلقاء القنبلة الذرية الأولى على هيروشيما عن طريق قاذفة قنابل من طراز ب-29 صممت لها أبواب خاصة فما نوع القاذفات المتاحة اليوم وما مدى اختلافها عن القاذفات القديمة... وهل قاذفات القنابل عي الوسيلة الوحيدة لإلقاء القنابل النووية أم أن هناك طرق أخرى وأجهزة أخرى..؟؟ ثم ما هي قصة الصواريخ الموجهة ذات الرؤوس النووية وعل كل صاروخ يمكن أن يزود برأس نووية واحدة أي بقنبلة نووية واحدة أم بأكثر من ذلك أي بعديد من الرؤوس النووية؟؟ والغواصات ما دورها في الحرب النووية القادمة؟ وإذا كانت هذه الغواصات هي السلاح المدمر الذي استعمل في الحرب العالمية الثانية فهل لهذا السلاح أهمية خاصة في حرب قادمة؟؟
وإذا كان الأمر كذلك فما النوع الذي ستكون له المهابة والقوة؟ أيمكن أن تطلق الغواصات قنابل ذرية على الأهداف الاستراتيجية؟ وكيف؟ وإذا كنا نعايش الأسلحة النووية ونعيش العصر الذري فلا بد لنا أن نعرف كيف ستكون صورة المذبحة النووية الشاملة التي يمكن أن تحدث حين يفلت الزمام وتضغط الأصابع النافرة على الأزرار وتنطلق الصواريخ النووية إلى كل مكان ومن كل مكان... وربما كان أهم سؤال هو هل حقاً يمكن أن تحدث حرب نووية؟ هل يمكن أن نتصور سلسلة من الحوادث يمكن أن تؤدي إلى أن تفكر دولة ما في استخدام الأسلحة النووية.
أسئلة عديدة، سيجيب عليها هذا الكتاب الذي ألفه الدكتور جمال الدين محمد موسى رئيس قسم الكيمياء بكلية العلوم جامعة عين شمس ومما يلاحظ على مؤلف الكتاب أن لديه قدرة واضحة على التبسيط وخصوصاً عندما يعرض للحديث على أكثر الأمور دقة وشفافية.
