جمع هذا الكتاب ما يزيد عن ثلاثماية وخمسين رواية تتعلق بوضع أحداث آخر الزمان في روايات أهل البيت وقسمتها إلى أقسام ثلاثة: ي على التوالي: القسم الأول: فيما ورد عنهم "عليهم السلام" في أحوال الأزمنة اللاحقة إلى آخر الزمان ومنه ما يتعلق بأشراط الساعة أو علامات القيامة. القسم الثاني: فيما ورد عنهم "عليهم السلام" من الأخبار عن وقوع أمور من فتن، وخروج رجال، وحصول خراب أو عمران، ومن يملك، خصوصاً من بني العباس. القسم الثالث: فيما ورد عنهم (عليهم السلام) من الأخبار عنا يحدث قبل ظهور قائم آل محمد "عليه السلام" بلا فرق بين كان معدوداً من علاملاته الختمية وهي قليلة، وبين ما كان من علاماته غير المصرح بحتميتها وهي الأكثر. ثم ذيله ببيان وتلخيص عن تلكم الأقسام.
