لمّا كانت الحياة دولاباً يدور، والأيّام قطرات مطر مقدّسة تغزل للنّاس أثواباً من قيم أخلاقيّة، ووشاحات من عادات وتقاليد، يدثّرون بها أنفاس حياتهم.
ولمّا كانت أرواح البشر تتنوّع بين من يقيم وزناً للقيم وقد سكن الربّ قلبه، وبين من تأخذه الحياة ببهرجها، فتغيب عن باله أنوار الرحمن في تقلّبات عباءة الزمن، كان لا بدّ لي من أن ألملم من ذاكرة الدهر بعض لوحات حياتيّة، تجلّت في قصص من الواقع، منها ما عايشته، ومنها ما شهدته، وبعضها سمعته من أفواه ثقة، وقد نقلتها بطريقة محافظة فيها على القيمة.
بعض الأسماء في بعض القصص كان لا بدّ لي من إستبدالها بأسماء وهميّة، والبعض الآخر بقي كما هو دون أيّ تغيير...
هي قصص ترسم لوحات مختلفة من صور الحياة، أتى بعضها لطيفاً مؤنساً، تجلّى فيه سموّ النفس البشريّة المضحّية، تظهر كيف تكون مواجهتنا للظروف متسلّحين بالإرادة الصلبة، محافظين على إنسانيّة الإنسان وروحانيّته وسموّ دوره الإلهي، وبعضها الآخر أتى قاسياً يحمل بين طيّاته صورة عن طبيعة بعض البشر الذين غفلوا عن الحقيقة لجوهر الإنسان، وقادتهم أهواؤهم إلى الإنجرار خلف الدنيا متناسين الآخرة، قدّسوا زخارف الحياة وبهرجها، مالوا نحو المظاهر الخدّاعة، حكمتهم المصالح، فتجلّت قسوة تدمي قلب كلّ من أيقن أنّ إنسانيّة الإنسان لا تكون في معزل عن الحبّ تغرسه لينبت ويعرّش الخير والجمال في مختلف جنبات أرواحنا...
