القصة الأولى من سلسلة "دروس مهمّة" تحكي هذه القصص عن الأرنب "برْبَر" والخُلد "مُدرِك". كلاهما غريب الأطباع قليلاً، عنيدٌ، وبما لا شك فيه وحيد. بعد أن أصبحا صديقان في ظروف غريبة، ينتهي بهما الأمر إلى حياة مشتركة في بيتٍ واحد وإلى تعايش وتشارك في الكثير من الأمور.
لكن حياة الصديقين الجديدة تودي بهما إلى مواقف جديدة تظهر اختلاف آرائهما. مجادلات ومساومات تسمح لأبطالنا بإدراك بعض الأمور المهمة. هذه الأمور تغدو بمثابة دروس مهمة تدفعهم لبذل أقصى جهد لبناء صداقة، وللتغيير نحو الأفضل. معاً يتعلّمان كيف يتماشيا مع بعضهما البعض ومع أنفسهما. 1- الأرنب الوحيد يتعرّف الى صديق جديد يدرك بَرْبَرْ الوحيد المنعزل أنه ليس عنده أي صديق، ربما بسبب شخصيته الصعبة. موقف غير متوقع يجبره أن يصبح أرنباً أفضل، وهذا ما يجعله يكسب صديقاً من حيث لا يدري ولا يحتسب.
