جاء في مكتوبات الإغريق الذين زاروا مصر في عهد الفراعنة أن كهنة المعابد قالوا إن الآلهة هي التي علمتهم الموسيقى وهي أيضا التي علمتهم القواعد الأساسية والدليل على ذلك النقوش الموجودة على جدران المعابد والمقابر والتي تضم بعض الفرق الموسيقية على آلات مختلفة مثل، الجنك، والصنج، (الهارب) والناي و(العود) وآلات أخرى كثيرة كما يعتقد الكثير أن النظيات الموسيقية والمقامات اليونانية القديمة مثل (الدوري) و (الفريجي) و (الليدي) وباقي تلك المقامات يرجع مصدرها إلى النظريات التي وضعت على يد الكهنة المصريين القدماء والدليل على ذلك أن العالم اليوناني (فيثاغورث) لم يضع نظرياته الموسيقية إلا بعد عودته من مصر، وكانت الموسيقى المصرية أعذب وأصدق من موسيقى أي من الشعوب القديمة حتى قال (أفلاطون) وصى بأن لا يسمتع شعبي إلا للموسيقى المصرية لأنها أصدق في التعبير..! ومن هذا المنطلق حاولت جاهدا أن أساهم في التعرف على بعض موسيقانا الشرقية الأصلية من أجل الحفاظ على تراثنا الغني بالمعاني الجميلة، ويسعدني أن أٌقدم كتابي هذا (الأغاني) ودراسة العود وعلم النغم). وأني لا أدعي المعرفة ولكن أقدم ما منّ به الله علىّ.
