إن هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا يضمّ بين دفتيه أسرار المهنة المقدسة التي يزولها الحاج "موسى بن شعبان اللواتي" منذ حوالي ثمانين سنة من سلطنة عُمان. وخوفاً من ضياع هذه الأسرار التي تدخل ضمن نطاق التداوي بالأعشاب المتداولة في عُمان وحرصاً على إخراج هذه الأسرار من انحصار المهنة، أقدم "تقي الموسوي" على تدوينها في هذا الكتيب لكي تبقى تراثاً غالياً للأجيال القادمة يستعملونها في العلاج من العديد من الأمراض.
وبالرجوع إلى مضمون الكتاب نجد أنه يحتوي بالإضافة إلى اسم المرض واسم الدواء وطريقة العلاج، على صورة فوتوغرافية للعشبة المستعملة وذلك لكي يرى القارئ بعينه الأعشاب التي يتم الحديث عنها؛ ولأن عُمان منطقة متعددة الثقافات تتداول فيها مختلف اللغات واللهجات، فلذلك ذكر المؤلف لكل عشب الأسماء المعروفة في عُمان بمختلف اللغات المتداولة فيها، لكي يتسنى للقارئ التعرف على العشب الدواء بعينه معاينةً واستعمالاً.
