تاريخ الأمة المسلمة تاريخ عريق، يضرب بجذوره فى أعماق الزمن، فهو يرتبط بالكون المسلم الذى خلقه الله مختاراً طائعاً لله رب العالمين، ويرتبط بآدم وزوجه وبنيه، الذين كونوا أول مجتمع مسلم على سطح الارض.
والأمة المسلمة (الأمة الواحدة) هى الأمة الشاهدة: (وكذلك جعلناكم أمة وسطاً لتكونوا شهداء على الناس).
ومن عرف تاريخه عرف أن الله رب العالمين هو الذى خلق هذا الكون وما فيه، ومن فيه، وأن كل شئ فيه يعرف ربه وخالقه.
وعرف أنه ينتسب إلى أدم عليه السلام، وأن الله قد ارتضى لهم الإسلام ديناً.. وعرف أن عدوه الشيطان، شيطان الإنس وشيطان الجن، الذى يحرص على اجتيال بنى آدم عن دينهم..
وعرف أن الله قد أرسل الرسل لاستنقاذ بنى آدم من براثن الشيطان، وأن أول الرسل إلى أهل الأرض هو نوح عليه السلام، وآخرهم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم.
وعرف أنهم - أى جميع الرسل - دعوا إلى الإسلام، وإن كان لكل أمة شرعة ومنهاج.
وعرف أن الزمن فى حس المؤمن ممتد، فهو الدنيا والآخرة، وليست الدنيا فحسب، وأن الموت مرحلة فى الطريق.
وعرف أن البعث حق، وأن النار حق، وأن الجنة حق، ومن عرف تاريخه عرف أن الله رب العالمين خلقه، وأنه قد خلقه لغاية، وهى عبادة الله وحده: (وما خلقت الجن والإنس إلا ليعبدون).
إذن فليعلم المسلمون حقيقة تاريخهم، وطبيعة دينهم، وليتحرروا من حب الدنيا، وكراهية الموت، وليعرفوا الغاية التى من أجلها خلقوا، وعلى أساسها وجدوا، حتى ينهضوا بالإسلام من جديد، ويستعيدوا مجدهم الداثر، وعزيمتهم المنيعة، وقوتهم الهائلة، ووحدتهم الشاملة، وما ذلك على الله بعزيز.
