تلك الأيام ليست تاريخاً، ولا تدعي تلك الكلمات أن تصبح تاريخاً أكاديمياً موثقاً،في الحقيقة هي أحرف تهدف إلى أن تكون مجرد ذكريات عبقة، وحكايات الياسمين تستعاد وتعيد رائحة تلك الأيام التي شكلتنا بحلوها ومرها.. شكلت وبلورت، بوعي أو بدونه، زماننا هذا، ووضعت بصماتها على حاضرنا. هذا الكتاب تصبح فيه الصورة رديفة الكلمة، رديفاً يضيف إلى تجريد الكلمة تجسيد بعد الزمن. الصورة والكلمة محوران يبحثان عن عمق الزمن، يعيدان تكوينه بأسلوب سهل، يؤشر ويشير، يلمح ويوارين يهمس ويهجس، يساهم بهمس متواضع ليقول إن دروبنا المعاصرة لم تمهدها إلا خطوات مترددة تتحسس طريقها باحثة عن مستقبل أفضل.
وكما البحرين إلا محطات حضارية، تكونت لبنة لبنة، وأضافت إلى الخليج سبق الزمن، وما الريادة إلا كسر سور القلق وفتح أبواب الحداثة والمجهول، ومن تخطى خوف أفق الإبحار، لم يتورع عن فتح الجدة، نافذة نافذة دون خوف، وقديماً قيل إن الناس أعداء ما جهلوا.. لذا لم يكن لشعب البحرين أعداء.. فهم يحبون أن يعرفوا ويشرعوا أفئدتهم على كل ما هو جديد.. لذا كانت البحرين سباقة للانفتاح على كل ما هو جديد في العالم.. وما هذه الصفحات إلا دليل على البدايات الأولى.
يحاول "تلك الأيام" أن يعيد الكثير من الذكريات وأن يستعيد بعض التواريخ وأن يعيد تخليق الكثير من الحوادث والروزنامات، والأهم أنه يحاول أن يعيد الثقة والحماس لقراءة التاريخ التي فقدها الكثير من الناس بسبب إهمال كتب التاريخ المتعمد وغير المتعمد لحياة البشر ووقائع معيشتهم، واعتماد الكثير منها على كتابة التاريخ بشكل يرضي الحكام أولاً وأخيراً ويروج للتاريخ الرسمي الذي يريدونه.
