يبين أهمية هذا الشرح حيث تكمن أهميته في انفراده بشرح ظاءات القرآن الكريم, و بلغ عدد الآيات التي ذكرها الشارح اثنين و أربعين و مئة آية, و ترك الباقي مشيراً إليه بقوله: و شبهه, أو ما أشبهه, أو: و ما أشبه ذلك. و جاءت ظاءات القرآن الكريم في المنظومة و الشرح في اثنين و ثلاثين أصلاً, و عدد هذه الأصول غير متساوٍ عند الناظمين, و سبب هذا التفاوت أنهم ينظرون الى معنى اللفظ لا إلى مادته و جذره. كما ذكر في مقدمة هذا الشرح عدد المواضع التي جاءت فيها الألفاظ الظائية في القرآن الكريم, و التي ترجع الى إحدى و عشرين مادة لغوية يرجع اليها ثلاث و خمسون و ثمانمئة لفظة ظائية, خلافاً لما ذكره أبو عمرو الداني في مقدمة منظومته إذ عدها ثمانمئة و اثنين و أربعين ظاءً.
