وأنت تقرأ هذا الكتاب "حكايا أميرة" تحضر أمامك سيرةٌ ذاتية مجبولةٌ بسيرة المجتمع، هي ليست مجِّرد أخبار وحوادث، ولا "دردشة حول التنّور"، يل هي أضواءٌ كاشفة على عادات وتقاليد وعقليّات وتصوّرات ومعتقدات وأحوال إقتصادية وسياسية... إلخ.
قيمةٌ هذه الحكايا تتجاوز إذاً التسلية والطرافة إلى قضيَّة في غاية الأهمية، هي "التاريخ الشفهي" لمجتمعنا، هذا التاريخ الذي لا نجده في بطون الكتب التعليمية، وإنما على لسان الأحياء من أصحاب الذاكرة والفهم والقدرة على إستخلاص العِبَر.
إلى ذلك تعي الكاتبة جيداً أنَّ حكاياها ليست مجّانية، بل ذات مغزى، يظهر ذلك من خلال الإنطباعات والتعليقات الشخصية التي تدسّها بين ثنايا الحكاية، بطريقة مقتضبة ولمّاحة، بحيث تخرج الحكاية من بين يديها بحلّة جديدة من صنع أميرة وحدها... وبهذا المعنى جاز لها أن تنسب تلك الحكايا إلى نفسها (حكايا أميرة).
