في هذا الكتاب سنتعرف على آراء شريحة من الطالبات في مواصفات زوج المستقبل ومعايير إختياره، ومدى وعي الطالبات بأهمية هذه المواصفات وتأثيرها على العلاقة الزوجية فيما بعد. كما أننا سنقارن بين المواصفات ومعايير الطالبات وأمهاتهن لنرى مدى التقارب أو الإختلاف بين جيل الطفرة المادية في المجتمع الخليجي، والذي نهل من المعرفة والعلم والخيرات وكافة الخدمات المتاحة، وبين جيل الأمهات الذي عاش ظروفاً مغايرة قلت أو تكاد تنعدم فيها فرص التعليم والثقافة والإحتكاك بشعوب وثقافات أخرى إلا ما ندر، لنرى من خلال آراء الجيلين دور العوامل الثقافية والإجتماعية والمادية في إتجاهات كل منهما فيما يتعلق بمواصفات الزوج، ودور كل منهما في عملية الإختيار ومدى الحرية المتاحة للفتاة في ذلك الآن. وما أحدثته عوامل التغيير الإجتماعي والثقافي والإقتصادي في المجتمع الخليجي من قفزات هائلة في حياة الأفراد، لم تقتصر على مظاهر الحياة العمرانية والإقتصادية، بل نعتقد أنها تسللت إلى النواحي المعنوية والمرتبطة بإتجاهات وتقاليد وعادات الأفراد وحتى سلوكياتهم، لتحدث فيها تغييرات من نوع آخر وإن كان التغيير فيها يسير حثيثاً، خاصة وإن كثيراً من المشكلات الزوجية التي نراها اليوم لم تكن تعرف في السابق بهذا الحجم.
