ومن المفيد للمتعلم أن يحاول أولاً أن يتمكن من الاستيعاب اللفظي للأبجدية الإنكليزية، وخصوصاً الأحرف الصوتية والأحرف المخففة والمقوية للفظ، مما يتيح له قراءة النصوص الإنكليزية منفرداً مما يساعده من الانطلاق نحو مستويات أعلى في تعلم اللغة الإنكليزية.
