"الدرر النجفية من الملتقطات اليوسفية" كشكول كلامي أصولي فقهي تاريخي أخلاقي تفسيري رجالي، يجد القارئ متعة خاصة في قراءته، كونه يتنقل به من عالم إلى عالم، ومن فن إلى فن. وقد يقول قائل: إن هناك الكثير من الكشاكيل في تراثنا ككشكول المصنف والبهائي وغيرهما، لكن يمكن أن يقال في هذا الصدد أن الدرر تتصف بعدة أمور تميزها عن غيرها من الكشاكيل الأخرى منها: 1-إنها كشكول علمي بحت بعيد عن أحوال الأدب والخيال. 2-الرصانة العلمية والبحث الموضوعي في كل ما تناوله. 3-المادة العلمية المضغوطة التي تبتعد عن الإسهاب الممل، والاختصار المخل، فهي بين حسب يقتضيه مقام البحث والكلام، ولأهمية هذا العمل وللمكانة التي يتمتع بها مصنفه اعتنى بتحقيق مادته، وبالرجوع لعمل المحقق نجد أنه ينجلى بـ: أولاً: تقطيع النص، وفرز عناوينه ومسائله. 2-تخريج الآيات القرآنية الكريمة والأحادي النبوية الشريفة وأقوال وآراء العلماء والشواهد الشعرية. 3-مراجعة المصادر التي أثبت عليها تخريجات الكتاب في مرحلة التخريج. 4-تقويم النص، وهي أهم مراحل التحقيق حيث فيها يتم الموازنة بين عبارتي النسختين الحجرية والمصفوفة، وترجيح إحداهما على الأخرى وإتمام النص بما يقتضيه السياق سواء من المصادر التي يذكرها المصنف، أو من بحار اللغة، ومراجعة ما يحيله مراجع المصادر على المقوم في الموارد التي تشكل عليه البت في صحتها. 5-إدخال التصحيحات وإخراج الكتاب فنياً بالشكل المطلوب.
