يأتي هذا الكتاب في ستة فصول يتحدث فيه الفصل الأول عن الاطار النظري للتفكير التباعدي من ناحية برامجه وتعليمه ومستوياته وتطوره وأهمية التدريب وعلاقة التفكير التباعدي بالذكاء أما الفصل الثاني يتحدث عن نظريات التفكير التباعدي أما الفصل الثالث تحدث عن البحث العلمي في التفكير التباعدي وخطواته أما الفصل الرابع تحدث عن المعالجة الاحصائية للتفكير التباعدي أما الفصل الخامس تضمن قضايا في التفكير وهي التعلم والتذكر والدافعية. أما الفصل السادس والأخير تحدث عن توصيات ونتائج البحث العلمي في التفكير التباعدي والتوصيات والنتائج أضافة الى ملاحق مختلفة منها ( مقياس مستويات التفكير وفق نموذج بلوم المعرفي وجلسات البرامج.
