بتلقائية مشوقة تطرح لنا الرواية تساؤلات بطلتها دنيا, عن الدنيا التى تؤرجحها بين حلمها الرومانسى فى الحياة, وهذه التناقضات التى يموج بها الواقع, الذى يحاصرها دائما بحالات من الفقد والحرمان, باحثة عن الرضا بلهاث نفس معذبة كاشفة عن نظرة امرأة مصرية كان قدرها أن ترتبط برجل قانون ريفى يحكمه نفس الواقع الذى يجعل من كليهما أسيرين لهذا التناقض فيتباعدان بنفس الدرجة التى يحلمان فيها بالقرب. ونجد أن اللغة مثقلة بالأحزان والمرارة, لامرأة تعطى بلا حدود. تتداخل بقية شخصيات الرواية, معلنة عن دورها فى الصراع. الذى ينطبع على نفسية البطلة ككابوس يجثم على حياتها, بلغة سردية ترقى إلى الخطاب الشعرى أحيانا. وحوار عفوى يترك أثره فى القارئ فيكسبه حميمية التواصل مع شخصيات الرواية والتفاعل مع أحداثها.
