هذا الكتاب يتناول حقبة تاريخية هامة تتعلق بدولة الإمارات العربية وقائدها الشيخ "زايد بن سلطان" فالإثنين مرتبطين معا بمسيرة طويلة من الكفاح والتنمية والإصلاح. فنجد في فصول الكتاب حديث تمتد لسنوات طويلة عن هذه البقعة التى تحولت فيما يزيد عن عقدين من بقعة صحراوية قاحلة إلى دولة حفظت لها مكانا مرموقا بين دول العالم. والكتاب لا يقفعند سيرة شخصية وذاتية للشيخ( زايد) أو تاريخي للمنطقة أو حتى رؤية سياسية لأحداثها ولكنه يجمعها معا ليكمل بعضها الآخر. فيبدأ بفصل تمهيدي عن تاريخ الإمارات وقبائلها ليبدأ الفصل الأول وقد وضع خلفية قوية قبل أن يتناول مولد الشيخ زايد وتربيته وشخصيته و أفكاره التى كانت تمتد لتشمل الإمارات جميعها والوطن العربي بأكمله. ويتناول الكتاب الاتحاد الذي كان الشيخ بطله ومن ثم بناء الدولة الحديثة. إلى جانب هذا نجد تناول السياسة بطلفة من وثم بناء الدولة.. لهذا كله فهو كتاب جدير بالقراءة التى نتعرف من خلالها على الكثير عن هذه الدولة العربية الشقيقة.
