تقول الكاتبة عائشة خالد عن كتابها "أنَا مِنْ دُوْنِكَ": "هذا الكتاب فيه كلمات، وجزء مني موزعٌ بين طيات صفحاته، فيه جرت كل المشاعر، وأغلب الأحداث في هذا الكتاب سأخبركم بها عن نعمة الصبر كيف تزور الإنسان بعد الابتلاء؟ سنستشعر سويّاً نعمة الخالق حتى بالابتلاء.
ولأن الله ابتلاني، فأكرمني؛ فاستشعرتُ حُبّه، وعظم قدرهُ عليَّ؛ فشكرته؛ وقررتُ أن أنقل لكم تجربةً خضتها، مكسوَّة بالشوق والحُب وبضع قطراتٍ من الألم، كانت تلك التجربة مع أبي. ولكنني لن أخبركم بها هنا... فالصفحات تنتظركم لقراءتها...
ولا تنسى أنها تنتظر منك أن تستشعر كل حرف كُتب، وكل جملةٍ سُطرت، سواءً كانت بألمٍ أم بفرح. فلا يزال الغائبون في أعماقنا على الرغم من رحيلهم، يسكنون أرواحنا، ونستمع لأنغام ضحكاتهم بين حينٍ وحين. رحلوا إلى السماء وغابوا، وتباعدت أرواحنا، وانتهى تاريخ حياتهم على هذه الأرض، ليبدأ تاريخ ذكرياتهم خالداً في قلوبنا.
