وفي هذا الكتاب محاولة من المؤلف لتحديد العناصر الفردية لوصف الشخص بأنه ذو شخصية قوية، فيه أيضاً تحديد موضوعي وعملي لملامح وسمات الشخصية القوية، وتقديم منهجي وظيفي يمكن للقارئ أن يستخدمه ليقوي شخصيته.
1)من منا يقبل أن يقال عنه أن شخصيته ضعيفة؟ لا أحد بالتأكيد. من منا لا يرغب أن يصفه معارفه وأصدقائه بأنه ذو شخصية قوية لا شك ، إن كل إنسان سواءً كان صغيراً أم كبيراً، متعلماً أم غير متعلم يجب أن يسحب ضمن فئة أقوياء الشخصية. ولكن الآراء والأحكام التي تصور بازاء قوة الشخصية أو ضعفها هي في الغالب آراء شخصية عابرة لا تستند إلى أساس موضوعي أو إلى معيار يمكن أن تتفق عليه مجموعة من الأشخاص. والواقع أن الرأي الفردي لا يمكن أن يكون رأياً أو حكماً يعتد به، فنحن لا نطمئن إلى الأحكام التي تصدر عن مجرد التفضيل والتذوق الفردي، بينما نطمئن إلى أحكام التي تصدر عن مجرد التفضيل والتذوق الفردي. بينما نطمئن إلى أحكام المبينة على عناصر ثابتة متفق عليها من جانب جميع المشتركين في إصدار تلك الأحكام.
