وقد اتبع المؤلف في هذا البحث منهج إستقرائي تحليلي وصفي إستنباطي عمل فيه على تجميع الآيات التي تشير إلى مواضيع الكيمياء الحيوية أي المركبات الحيوية وتفسيرها ودراستها وبين كيف فهمها المفسرون المتقدمون وكيف فسرها علماء العصر في ضوء معرفتهم وعلومهم، وركز في الأغلب الأحيان على ثلاثة مفسرين من القدامى، هم الطبرى المتوفى في 310هـ والقرطبي المتوفى في 671هـ وابن كثير المتوفى في 705هـ.
