بعد أن جمع المؤلف المأثورات والوصايا من كتاب "رياض الصالحين"، للإمام "الحافظ محيي الدين بن شرف النووي"، الذي حوى أحاديث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، كما وردت في الصحاح.
عمل في هذا الكتاب على جمع المواعظ، وبدأ بالعمل، فكانت 583 موعظة من مواعظ الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم التي تشمل أفضل أقوال وأعمال الرسول الكريم المعلم والمربي والمّوجه الذي أمرنا الله سبحانه وتعالى بإتباعه، بقوله تعالى: (قل إن كنتم تحبون الله فاتبعوني يحببكم الله ويغفر لكم ذنوبكم...)، وقوله تعالى: (وما آتاكم الرسول فخذوه، وما نهاكم عنه فانتهوا] لأنه القدوة الصالحة في عمله، وفي قوله، وفي عبادته، لنفوز بسعادة الدارين.
