يهتم هذا الكتاب بدراسة جغرافية المناخ والأرصاد الجوية وبالرغم من وجود بعض الكتب التي تعالج جغرافية المناخ بالمكتبة العربية، إلا أن الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا يهتم ويبرز العلاقة بين جغرافية المناخ والأرصاد وأهمية كل عنصر مناخي علاوة على بعض الدراسات التطبيقية.
ويضم الكتاب ثلاث عشرة فصلاً؛ الفصل الأول: يهتم بتعريف علم الطقس والمناخ وتطورهما، الفصل الثاني: اهتم بالغلاف الجوي ومكوناته الثلاثة، وطبقات الغلاف الجوي وأهم خصائص كلا منها، الفصل الثالث: تناول محطات الأرصاد الجوية وتصنيفها وأهميتها، ثم عمليات تجميع وتبادل المعلومات من المحطات في المراكز الرئيسية، الفصل الرابع: يتضمن أولى عناصر المناخ والإشعاع الشمس، الفصل الخامس: تناول دراسة درجة حرارة الكرة الأرضية وأجهزة قياس درجة الحرارة وحدات قياس درجة الحرارة والتحويل بينها.
أما الفصل السادس: ناقش أجهزة قياس الضغط الجوي ووحدات قياس الضغط الجوي، الفصلين السابع والثامن: تناول الفصلين أنواع الرياح والكتل الهوائية والجبهات وتأثيرهم في مناخ العالم وبعض الأقاليم علاوة على الجبهات والأعاصير المدارية، الفصل التاسع: اهتم بالتبخر وأجهزة قياسه والرطوبة الجوية ومقايسها والعوامل المؤثرة في التبخر، الفصل العاشر: عالج الفصل مظاهر التكاثف والتساقط وأنواعهم وأسباب تكونهما وأجهزة القياس الخاصة بكل منهما، الفصل الحادي عشر: التصنيفات والأقاليم المناخية في العالم وركز على تصنيف كوين، الفصل الثاني عشر: عرض الفصل المعادلات العالمية لتأثير المناخ على الإنسان وتطبيق معادلة سبل والمنحنى المناخي على مصر، والفصل الثالث عشر: فصل تطبيقي لبعض الدراسات المناخية التطبيقية في مصر.
