الأويغور من أعرق الشعوب التركية في الحضارة، والذي قدم للبشرية العديد من الإنجازات الحضارية. إنه الشعب الذي يعد أرومة الشعوب التركية قاطبة. فمن مضارب خيام هذا الشعب انسالت الهجرات التركية وتشعبت فروعها، ومن شجرة الأويغورية تفرعت باقي اللهجات التركية. لذلك لن نكون مبالغين إذا قلنا أن وطن الأويغور هو الموطن الأصلي للشعوب والتركية جميعًا.
كما أسهم شعب الأويغور بنصيب وافر في التراث الإسلامي، أسهموا أيضًا بنصيبهم في الأدب الإسلامي، وهو أدب إنساني رفيع، لم تتح الفرصة للمثقفين العرب لقراءته والتعرف عليه، وذلك بسبب عدم تصدي أحد لترجمة هذا الأدب إلى اللغة العربية. تشكل اللغة الأويغورية الأصل الذي تفرعت منه اللغة التركية، وتطورت عبر الزمان مع الحفاظ على كيانها، حتى أصبحت الأويغورية لغة أدبية مشتركة بين الشعوب التركية بأسرها في آسيا الوسطى اعتبارًا من القرن 14 ميلادي إلى القرن العشرين. وهي أساس لغات الشعوب التركية كلها في المنطقة الممتدة من غرب الصين مرورًا بالقوقاز وصولًا إلى شرق أوربا.
وفي هذا الكتاب نقدم للقراء قواعد هذه اللغة، بالإضافة إلى إيرادنا لنماذج من الأدب الإسلامي الأويغوري القديم والحديث فمازالت الأويغورية لغة حية تكتب بالأبجدية العربية منذ ألف سنة وإلى الآن، وهي اللهجة التركية الوحيدة من بين جميع اللهجات التركية الآخرى التي مازالت تستخدم الحروف العربي في كتابة مؤلفاتهم ومدوناتهم.
