كانت الأسئلة والإجابات تتوالى، حتى غطست في النوم، قمت، اخذت طريقي مبكراً، بإتجاه باب العوالي، حين وقفت أمام باب إدارة الأحوال الشخصية، كان هناك مجموعة من الداخلين والخارجيين، وقفت أمام موظف التابعيات، كان لاهياً في كومة أوراق، رفع رأسه، نظر إليّ بحالة بين الوهن والنشاط؛ حينذاك مددت يدي في جيبي، سددت له بثبات عدة طعنات.
على رأسه وصدره، وعلى يده التي كانت على كومة الأوراق، لم يبد مقاومة، ربما شلته المفاجأة: لكنه صار يتخبط في مكانه حتى همد، وكان الذهول بادياً على وجهه، وعلى وجوه، وحركة المراجعين، دون أن يتحرك أحد منهم، شلتهم المفاجأة!...
تحركت، وضعت المدية في جيبي، عبرت بهدوء، وذبت، وسط ذهول الجميع، تلك اللحظة، والشمس قد بدأت تسلط شعاعها، على منطقة العوالي، أحسست لأول مرة، بسلام داخلي! وأنا أردد بثبات: سامحني يا عم ذاكور!...
