ذلك أن عبثيته المفرطة كانت في كثير الأحيان تكشف عن لا مبالاته بالحالتين معاً: حالة الحياة التي استسلم فيها إلى "تشرّد نوعي" في سلبيته، وحالة الشاعر الذي لم يكن حرصه واضحاً على أن يكون بشعره / ومن خلاله، على الرغم من تماسك لحظته الشعرية فيه، والتشكيل النوعي لبنائه الفني، ورصانته لغة وتعبيراً.
وكما كانت حياته "مشهدية الصورة"، كانت قصيدته، هي الأخرى، تعتمد مثل هذا "التكوين المشهدي" الذي يعمل قلم البصام على أن يستجمع بعضاً من تفاصيله، وليس كلها، في الصفحات التاليات.
