وقد بدأ الكتاب بباب عن توليد الطاقة الكهربية ثم باب عن نظام القدرة وتبعه بباب لدراسة العوزال الكهربية المستخدمة في أنظمة النقل والتوزيع وتلي ذلك باب عن التصميم الميكانيكي للخطوط الهوائية للنقل وباب لشرح ظاهرة الكورونا ثم باب لثوابت خط نقل الطاقة الكهربية وتبعه بباب عن أداء خطوط النقل القصيرة والمتوسطة والطويلة ثم تكلم عن الكابلات الأراضية المستخدمة في نقل في باب تلاه باب عن توزيع DC ، وباب عن توزيع AC .
ولم يفت المؤلف دراسة تخطيط نظام التوزيع ثم خطوط التوزيع الهوائية ثم باب عن الجهود الزائدة في نظام الطاقة واختتم بباب عن حماية النظام ضد الأخطار المعرض لها وأخيرا باب عن صيانة نظام توزيع القدرة.
