مملكة المناذرة إحدى الممالك العربية المشهورة قبل الإسلام، أسّسها اللخميّون في المنطقة الممتدة من جنوبي العراق، حيث كانت عاصمتهم "الحيرة"، إلى منطقة الخليج العربي وشمالي الجزيرة العربية، وشملت حوض الفرات العراقي الغربي وتاخمت بادية الشام، وكانت معاصرة لدولة الغساسنة إلى الغرب منها.
وبما أن الدراسات عن هذه الدولة التي امتدّ تاريخها من 268 إلى 634م مختصرة، نظراً لمكانتها في التاريخ العربي، فقد اختارها الباحث موضوعاً لأطروحته الجامعيّة. واعتمد على مصادر أصلية، سريانية وإغريقية، بالإضافة إلى المصادر العربية، وقد استوفى ما يهمُّ القارئ والباحث عن دولة المناذرة في ستة فصول:
عدّد في الأول ملوك المناذرة وكل ما يتعلق بشخصياتهم ومُدد حكمهم.
وتحدّث في الثاني عن الاستراتيجية العسكرية في تلك الدولة وفنون القتال وكل ما يتعلق بالجيش وتسليحه وحروبه.
وضمَّن الثالث الزراعة والتجارة والحرف والثروة الحيوانية.
وتعرّض في الرابع إلى الحياة الاجتماعية وطبقات المجتمع ودياناته.
ودرس في الخامس الحياة العلمية والثقافية.
ووصف في السادس التقدُّم العمراني والقصور والأديرة والكنائس.
وختم بالفتح الإسلامي للحيرة.
وبناءً على ما تقدم يمكننا أن نعدّ هذا الكتاب أشمل وأوسع وأدقّ كتاب في موضوعه.
