يقول المؤلف في مقدمة كتابه هذا أنه يتقدم إلى المسلمين، في مشارق الأقصى ومغاربها بهذه الرسالة للمرة الثانية، بعد أن نفدت طبعتها الأولى، راجياً من الله تعالى أن يفتح بها آذاناً صمّاً وقلوباً غلفاً، ويحرك للعمل بما فيها من النصح والإرشاد، قوماً يشعرون بخطر التدهور الخلقي الذي أصاب المجتمع في هذا العصر بتأثير دعاية الإباحيين في مصر وغيرها من الأقطار الإسلامية.
مضيفاً بان تلك الدعاية الفاجرة الآثمة التي كان من نتائجها السيئة إنتشار الرقص والمجون والخلاعة والتهتك والتبرج في كثير في الأوساط الإسلامية، وإختلاط الرجال بالنساء إختلاطاً شائناً أدى إلى تلويث العرض والكرامة، وشيوع الآثام والفواحش، وتقليل نسبة الراغبين في الزواج الشرعي من الشبان؛ وهي حالة تنذر بسوء العاقبة وخطر الإنحلال والغناء لا قدر الله...
يحاول المؤلف تقديم النصح والإرشاد في هذه المسألة، مستشهداً بآيات من القرآن الكريم، وبأحاديث، وبما ورد في السنّة النبوية والأثر، مبيناً الآثار الإجتماعية السلبية الناجمة عن هذا الإختلاط، مختتماً رسالة نصحه هذه بكلمات: "وأملي كبير في أن يأخذ كل مطلع على هذه الرسالة بما فيها من موعظة بالغة، ونصيحة خالصة، وأدب رفيع أرشدت إليه آيات الذكر الحكيم، وأحاديث النبي الكريم، ففي ذلك وحده شفاء أمراضنا الخلقية، وعلاج أدوائنا الإجتماعية...
هذا وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن الطبعة الأولى من هذه الرسالة صدرت في العام 1934م، وهذه الطبعة الثانية صدرت في العام 2002م، بالإضافة إلى ذلك فإن الكتاب هو الخامس في سلسلة النفائس المصورة، في "الفقه وأصوله".
