يحلل هذا الكتاب إشكالية المنهج في هيرمينوطيقا بول ريكور، مع توضيح علاقة هذه الإشكالية وهذه الهيرمينوطيقا مع العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية. هذا إلى جانب محاولة الإجابة عن سؤال: إلى أي حد نجح ريكور في التأسيس النظري للعلاقات والترابطات الوثيقة بين الميدان الفلسفي من جهة، وميداني اللاهوت والعلم من جهة أخرى، من دون الخلل بين هذه الميادين وتجاوز الحدود الفاصلة بينها نسبيًا؟ هذا مع العلم أن الانشغال بإشكالية المنهج رافق مسيرة هذه الفلسفة الريكورية منذ نفاذ الهيرمينوطيقا فيها في عام 1960. مع الإشارة هنا إلى أن تأكيد انشغال هيرمينوطيقا ريكور بالمسائل المنهجية والإبيستمولوجية لا يقلل من قيمة البعد الأنطولوجي فيها.
