قد تظافرت جهود العلماء في تدوين علم القراءات والعناية به عناية فائقة، وصنفوا في ذلك الكتب الكثيرة قديماً وحديثاً، نظماً ونثراً، ومن أجلِّ تلك المصنفات: منظومة (حرز الأماني ووجه التهاني) في القراءات السبع للإمام الشاطبي - رحمه الله - المعروفة بــ (الشَّاطبية)، والتي كُتب لها القبول بين المسلمين، فقرأ بمضمنها خلق لا يحصون، وتناولها كثير من العلماء بالشرح، بداية من تلميذ الشاطبي: الإمام السخاوي، ومروراً بأبي شامة والفاسي وشعلة والجعبري وغيرهم، وإنتهاءً بأبرز الشروح المعاصرة، وهو شرح الشَّيخ القاضي.
ثمّ إنّ بعض الأئمة المتأخرين عُنوا بتحريراتها وكشف غوامضها وإيضاح مجملاتها؛ أخذاً من (نَشِر) ابن الجزري وبعضِ المسائل التي كتبت في شروح (الشَّاطبية)، وكان من أوائل هؤلاء الأئمة: الشيخ هاشم المغربي (1186هـ) صاحب كتاب (حصن القارئ في إختلاف القارئ).
وهو كتاب يعدُّ من أوائل الكتب المصنفة في تحريرات (الشاطبية) وحلّ غوامضها ومشكلاتها وامتاز مؤلفه بسعة الإطلاع على المؤلفات في القراءات العشر الصغرى والكبرى و(عشر نافع)، وتحريرها، وما انتهى إليه الإقراء في المغرب في زمنه.
