إيهاب الخشاب كاتب هذه الرواية من مواليد 24/1/1954، وحصل على بكالوريوس الإخراج السينمائي من المعهد العالي للسينما عام 1978، وقد أخرج العديد من الأفلام التسجيلية والتي نال بعضها جوائز في مهرجانات دولية، ومنها: (برديات فرعونية)-(المتحف الجيولوجي)-(الرجل=لأ×الوقت المناسب).
كما عمل كمساعد مخرج في العديد من الأفلام الروائية وربما يدين بالفضل في كتابة هذه الرواية للكساد النسبي الذي يعاني منه الإنتاج السينمائي حالياً مما جعله يتجه إلى الإنتاج الأدبي، مبتدئاً بهذه الثلاثية وجزئها الأول فتح العين وهي أنشودة تتغنى بالحرية وتنبذ كل أنواع السجون مثل سجن المشاعر أو العقيدة أو العادة أو السجن النفسي.
