ولدت في ٢٨ ابريل من عام ١٩٢٨ في لندن، عملت في مصنع منذ عام ١٩٤٢ ، في عام ١٩٦١ كتبت أولى رواياتها الرومانسية وكان اسمها "بون والمطاحن" ، تفرغت في الكتابة عام ١٩٦٣ في منزلها جنوب انكلترا ، لم تتزوج وليس لديها أي أطفال، توفيت عام ١٩٨٩ بمرض السرطان

الحب لا يعرف الفروق والمسافات والأجناس.. فهو يخترق حجب القلب ويتغلغل إلى خلاياه بلا مقاومة.. هكذا تزوج المخرج السينمائى المعروف فى هوليود (لومارش) بالممرضة المتواضعة الجمال(فاى) التى أخلصت له بصدق.. لكن قصة انتحار خطيبته السابقة، وظنونه التى تسببت فى فقد جنينها، أديا إلى رحيل فاى عنه. إلا أن رحلتهما معا كصديقين بالصدفة.. اظهرت حقيقة حبهما العميق.. عندما تعرض القطار لحادث مأساوى.. وبادر كل منهما بالعمل تلقائيا على إنقاذ الآخر.. مضحياً بنفسه دون تفكير. لكن هل يفقد لومارش إحدى يديه، تعود إليه فاى ثانية، أم أنه سيرقض إشفاقها على حاله ويكملان إجراءات الانفصال..؟ وهل ستذوب قصة المنتحرة من الذاكرة بعدما تظهر الحقائق المثيرة...؟
