رحل عن دنيانا وهو ممسك بقلمه فارس الكلمة الشجاعة الصادقة االواء أ.ح/ حسن البدري- شيخ المؤرخين العسكريين المصريين الذي نذر حياته للتأريخ للعسكرية المصرية- بعد عمر حافل بالعطاء تقلد فيه العديد من المناصب العسكرية الرفيعة، كان آخرها عمله كمديراً لأكاديمية ناصر العسكرية العليا، ورئيساً لهيئة البحوث العسكرية، لقد شاء القدر أن يمهل المغفور له اللواء أركان حرب/ حسن البدري الفرصة حتى ينتهي من إعداد هذا الكتاب مع تلميذه العقيد الدكتور/ فطين أحمد فريد، ثم ينهي أيضاً مراجعات هذا الكتاب حتى دخل حيز الطباعة، إلا أن القدر لم يمهله لكي يرى آخر أعماله القيمة، عن العدوان الصهيوني الأنجلو فرنسي على مصر خريف 1956، والذي يتكون من ثمانية أبواب، بالإضافة إلى ملحق من الخرائط الملونة، ويصدر هذا الكتاب القيم- الذي بين يديك عزيزي القارئ- بمناسبة مرور أربعين عاماً على حرب العدوان الثلاثي على مصر عام 1956، بعد أن تكشفت حقائق كثيرة من خبايا ذلك العدوان. فجاء الكتاب عرضاً أميناً وموثقاً لأحداث تلك الحرب وملابساتها، والتي أنهت إلى غير رجعة عصر الوجود العسكري البريطاني في مصر. وأخيراً.. أرجو من القراء الأعزاء قراءة الفاتحة ترحماً على روح شهدائنا الأبرار.
