تتضمن ترجمتي هنا جزء من الموسوعة، وهو الفصل العاشر بعنوان "العلم". ويأتي الاهتمام بمثل هذه الترجمات من هدف عام يعني بإعادة كتابة تاريخ العلم العربي الإسلامي من جهة، ويعني أن محاولة اللحاق بركب التقدم، تتطلب قراءة ومعرفة وفهم كل ما يكتبه عنا الغرب، من جهة أخرى.
