وقد رأى الباحث أن يخوض غمار هذا البحث بالحياد والموضوعية مبينا أسس التجديد التي دعا إليها رواد الحداثة والتزموا بها في أشعارهم وما صار إليه الشعر الجديد على أيدي المتشاعرين حتى غدت القصيدة الجديدة معرضاً لفنون شتى ولم تجد فيها شعراً فلا هي حافظت على طبيعة النثر ولا هي أبدعت شعراً وكان هذا دافعاً إلى الإنصراف عنها والعودة إلى تراثنا الشعري الذي حافظ فيه الشعراء على الأسس التراثية لبناء القصيدة العربية مروراً بعصور الإزدهار الأدبي حتى شعراء العصر الحديث.
وقد اتبع الباحث المنهج الموضوعي في عرض القضية موضحاً أبعادها داعياً إلى الالتزام بالأسس التي سار عليها رواد الشعر القديم والحديث وهذا جهد المقل.
