أرى ان ما قرأت لأخى زكى سالم،يدل على أصالة، من ناحية، لأن أغلب قصصه مستوحاه فى روحها من الحكم والأمثال والحكايات العربية. إنه من هذه الناحية، نحى الحداثيين جانبا، ورجع الى الأصول بكل شجاعة. ولكن هذا الرجوع، لم يقطعه عن روح العصر. فإلى جانب الأصالة، هو يكتب بأسلوب موجز مركز يصل الى هدفه من أقصر السبل، متمشيا -تماما- مع روح العصر العلمى، الذى نعيشه الأن وأنا أعتقد أن الجمع بين الأصالة وروح العصر بتلك الطريقة، توفيق أدبى جديد، أرحب به كل الترحيب، وأتمنى له النجاح والاستمرار نجيب محفوظ
