هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى إيضاح ماهية العملة الورقية بوصفها نقوداً، فاعتنت ببيان الحالات التي تطرأ على العملة الورقية من تذبذب في قيمتها إلى فقد ثمنيتها نتيجة ظروف وسياسات متغيرة متعددة، وكذلك تعرضت الدراسة لتسليط الضوء على كيفية التعامل بهذه النقود الورقية في القرض وكيفية رده: مثلياً أو قيمياً عند التقلبات النقدية والتبدلات الزمانية والفروق المكانية التي تختلف فيها قيمة العملة النقدية.
واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الاستقرائي التحليلي، فسعت إلى مراجعة النصوص الفقهية وما جاءت به من معالجة لمسألة النقود، ورسم العلاقة بين النقود من عصر نشأتها إلى عصرنا الحاضر، وذلك من خلال الرجوع إلى أمهات كتب الفقه والدراسات الاقتصادية الإسلامية المعاصرة في هذا الموضوع.
ولقد خلصت الدراسة إلى جملة من النتائج من أهمها أن القرض من عقود الإرفاق، مقصدها الأسمى إمهال ذي العسرة سعياً إلى خلق مجتمع متكافل تسوده السماحة والتعاون.
واقترحت الدراسة ضرورة النظر في العمل من أجل إيجاد دينار إسلامي على غرار عملة "اليورو"، وليصبح ذلك الدينار بعد المقياس الذي يحتكم إليه عند حدوث تغير في قيمة القروض.
