ومن هذا المنطلق كان اختيارنا لهذا الكتاب الذي جعلنا عنوانه "أصباغ مصر وأحبارها عبر العصور" عله يسد إحدى الفجوات في الدراسة الأثرية. وترجع أهمية الدراسة إبان تلك الفترة، إلى أنها تعد أول دراسة عملية موضوعية تقنينية، لم تظهر من قبل سواء في الشرق أو الغرب، وهي تلقي لأول مرة الاضواء على عديد من الجوانب الخفية في هذا الصدد، فضلًا عن أنها تضيف الجديد إليه. وقد جاءت على ثلاثة أبواب هي كالتالي: [الباب الأول: عرض لصناعة الأصباغ والألوان والأحبار في مصر حتى الفتح العربي، الباب الثاني: الأصباغ وأنواعها، الباب الثالث: الأحبار وأنواعها وألوانها].
