من المعروف قديماً والمتواتر في دنيا الناس أن الأولاد يأتون إلى هذه الدنيا عن طريق العلاقة المشروعة بين الرجل والمرأة (النكاح) من خلال هذه العلاقة يحدث التناكح بين الزوجين، ومن ثم يحدث التكاثر، وقد لا يحدث بسبب العقم الذي هو أحد الأمراض التي تصيب الناس.
ومع تقدم العلوم لا سيما علم الطب، اكتشف العلماء طرقاً عديدة لعلاج العقم، ووسائل متنوعة من خلالها يمكن للمرأة أن تلبي رغبتها في أن تصبح أمّاً.
هذه الوسائل كثيرة ومتعددة منها المشروع والممنوع، ونحن من خلال هذا البحث نبين حكم الشرع وكلمة الفقه في بعض هذه الوسائل الحديثة مع ذكر المعلومات الطبية التي تمس الحاجة إليها لتصور المسألة وقد سميت البحث: (وسائل الإنجاب في الطب الحديث، وموقف الفقه الإسلامي منها).
فاقتضى المقام إلى تقسيم البحث إلى ثلاثة فصول على النحو التالي: الفصل الأول: العقم بين الفقهاء والأطباء، الفصل الثاني: التلقيح الصناعي، (أطفال الأنابيب)، الفصل الثالث: تأجير الأرحام في ميزان الفقه الإسلامي.
