يتناول هذا الكتاب تركيب وإنشاء الأنابيب للمنشآت النفطية حيث يطلق مصطلح Piping على شبكة الأنابيب ذات الأقطار الكبيرة ومصطلح Plumbing يطلق على شبكة الأنابيب ذات الأقطار الصغيرة والتي يمكن صناعة كل منها من النحاس أو حديد الصلب أو البلاستيك أو الخرسانة المسلحة... إلخ وتستخدم الأنابيب بصفة عامة في نقل المياه والسوائل والغازات والبخار وكذلك نقل مشتقات النفط المختلفة أو المنتجات البتروكيمائية وتسمى هذه الأنابيب بخطوط أنابيب النقل حيث تمتد الأنابيب إلى آلاف الكيلومترات أعلى أو أسفل سطح الأرض ويتكون هذا الكتاب من خمسة أبواب وهي: ( الأسس والمفاهيم العامة للأنابيب، الأنابيب المعدنية وإنشاءها، وصلات ربط الأنابيب، لحام خطوط الأنابيب، الصمامات في أنظمة الأنابيب).
